Just recently, with the release of the 2.4 and 2.41 firmwares for the Playstation 3, a brand new Trophy system, somewhat similar to Xbox Live Achievements, was implemented into the console. However, to date, there is nothing for the PSP in this manner.
But is this about to change? At E3, during a presentation for the game Buzz! Master Quiz, after the producer had mention a metal system for the game, he said the following:
"The cool thing is it isn’t just getting the gold medal," he chimed. "We’ve also implemented a trophy system. Let’s say you answer a question within one second, you get a lightning finger trophy. If you answer a question within half a second, you get a supersonic trophy."
So what’s this about? He declined to comment further. However, something like this would make sense, as Sony just very, very recently allowed for all consumers who own a Playstation ID to be synced across all platforms for universal use and ease of access (PS3, PSP, PC). It would make a lot of sense to give the Playstation Portable something like this, as it would seem like a natural extension. Only time will tell now if something like this will happen. After all. E3 does end today...
