Wasn’t v1 just released yesterday?! Dark_AleX already has released the followup patch to this plugin, which when used in 4.01m33, allows for Slim PSPs to create savestates at ANY point in ANY game, including ISOs, UMDs, and homebrew. Obviously, one of the many downsides to this feature is that it is a Slim exclusive, due to RAM usage which isn’t as readily available in the Fat PSP.
Anyways, here is the official description and changelog:
- Fixed important bug in inter-thread code (semaphore wasn’t waiting due to interrupts disabled), that caused the load state to not be completely read in some cases. This caused black screen after state load (unless you just saved that state, in this case state was still in ram), or even worse, game not working properly due to partial load.
- Added states per game basis. The controls are slightly different: old controls now do a local savestate/loadstate of the game, while pressing additionally select button will save/load a global state. See instructions for more info.
- Fixed bug that caused normal sleep mode waking up immediately.
- UMD discs and ISOs in normal UMD mode are now supported. However, they require to nullify umdcache, by flashing one file, read the instructions below.
"Nothing pisses me off more than having to advance to the next checkpoint before I’m able to save my game. Yeah, you know what that’s like — dinner is getting cold, people are yelling for you to hurry up… Really it never ends; that is, until now… Dark_AleX has unveiled his latest & greatest project — PspStates. Save your game in its exact state — wherever, whenever.
I strongly encourage you read the included documentation before using PspStates. That covers installation, usage, and other things you should know."
BE ABSOLUTELY SURE that you install this on a PSP Slim using 4.01m33 if you intend to give this a shot. Also, DO NOT use this in conjunction with a fake memory stick (if you know you have one), as the drivers in the fakes may end up screwing your PSP over. Also, it’s advisable that you back up the data on your memory stick before using this plugin. Lastly, READ THE README. Not only is this critical every time you install a new piece of homebrew, but this readme has been updated with new info and details since yesterday’s release.
I leave you on an advisable piece of info from DaX himself, as well as the download:
"DO NOT USE this plugins with umd’s inserted, and do not use it of course with UMD’s in normal mode, even isofs mode is not recommended. Use only in march33 (recommended), np9660 or in homebrew. You can have the plugin loaded in umd’s, as soon as YOU DON’T USE IT.
