Posted by Deltahawk12 58 days ago

With the release of 4.01M33 most were dissapointed when they found out the savestate feature was not added with the release of the firmware. Well fear not as Dark AleX has been working on it, and in proof he has released an experimental version of his feature. The experimental build comes in a plugin for slim psp users. This will aloow you to save the game at any point you wish allowing you to start right back where you left off. You can download the file below. Remember you must be a slim users with 4.01M33. Be sure to read the reame because after all it is an experimental plugin.

I downloaded it, tried it, and it works really well. Great work Dark-Alex. This is going to make playing god of war on god mode less of a pain since I can save it right before I start a battle so if I die I wont have to run far and then watch the lady talk for a minute.
i've just downloaded it. and after reading the readme, by the looks of it, it uses a big chunk of ram. which the fat doesn't have. that's why "I" think it's only exclusive to the slim. as for the side option and not implimented into the cfw, (to quote the readme) "This program was never intended to be part of M33 cfw, it always was planned to be released as a plugin, just to clarify :)" Edit: when i wrote this post, i didn't read the readme fully and the answer to your (why slim exclusive) is answered. quoting the readme again "Q: Why only PSP SLIM? A: In the current implementation, I'm using slim extra memory. The file writing is post-poned while file read is done before the real load state. This is because we lack of a good memory stick driver that could be used in situations where the kernel is off. The only memory stick driver we have, which is the used in DC, is extremelly slow, it has no sense to use it here. Until memory stick dma code is reversed, it is impossible the implementation on psp phat.
ok... i figured it was tech, but i didnt know for sure. thanks.

now WHY is this slim exclusive...?? and i still don't see why this wasn't just implemented instead of having it as a option on the side.
