A while ago, AFKIM was abandoned by Danzel when he left the homebrew scene, so it was good news when Zx-81 decided to pick it right back up.

If you don’t know what this program is, Away From Keyboard Instant Messenger is a homebrew application that is a universal messaging client, compatible with AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, and GTalk.

Here is the official changelog:

  • Fix issue with ICQ / AOL account icon / login stuff (due to bitlbee server changes)
  • Fix IR keyboard issue with fw >= 3.80 for FAT PSP (thanks to Angelo)
  • Fix online status issue

Make sure to read the readme before attempting installation. It is important to note that this download comes with three pieces, one for Fat users, another for Slim users, and source code.

Anyone having connect issues with AIM on this now? I never had an issue before now it has issues connecting to my AIM SN, I keep having this issue over and over. Also I tried older versions and have this issue now. Is the issue with bitlbee or the app? Also I have had to keep deleting my account add again and again here.

ZX-81 doesn't leave any awesome project left unturned :) That guy's been making some of the most useful and rare emulators I have ever used. I especially love his Calc emu's they saved me many times in class last year.

Wait Danzel left?!?!? When did that happen? Well anyway I'm greatful that this app has been updated seeing as I use it all the time to talk to my friend in New York.
